This little spacer puts you into the right place to begin and to end. It is like a craft pattern. When you begin at the right
spot you will end at the beginning. Life is like crafting. We start out new and
uncertain but along the way we gain knowledge to end strong and knowledgeable.
July 6th, 2009 at 11:00 pm
Hmm…. My guess is that the contraption is used to keep your pencils & thread together in your bag. Because, really, who doesn’t need that?! And in this configuration? Perfect space saver….. or something
July 7th, 2009 at 12:36 am
My guess is that it will become a box made out of yarn/twine (I can’t quite tell what material you’re using) after you remove the pencils and pens that are holding it together for now. It looks quite interesting!
July 7th, 2009 at 3:55 am
Hmmm, I see it can be used to make two parallel lines at the same time an equal distance apart. So I guess if you want, you can mark stuff up and only have to draw once?
xx
July 7th, 2009 at 6:59 am
well, I think it might be something to weave on. I don’t have any clever answer just that.
Thanks for the awesome give-away.
July 7th, 2009 at 11:32 am
it def looks like you draw lines with the pencils. it reminds me of the chalk holders music teachers use to draw staff for musical notes…..like this….http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.teacherstorehouse.com/thumbs/ACM10490_T.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.teacherstorehouse.com/default.asp%3Ftype_key%3D2%26classification_key%3D82%26order_key%3D&usg=__sW565UTd0xZ0tBNvyKKKHno3SfE=&h=72&w=100&sz=3&hl=en&start=19&sig2=sx2ZTvn7jUqC8r3yzCdUNA&um=1&tbnid=sMEwo-QUsgXXcM:&tbnh=59&tbnw=82&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dchalk%2Bholder%2Bfor%2Bmusic%2Bteacher%2B4%2Blines%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1C1CHMB_enUS317US317%26sa%3DG%26um%3D1&ei=TWpTSp3dEqaCmQehpOiWCQ

I think its used to make things to applique to the cool clothes and bags and hats you make! The pencils and hair chops slid out easily when done and looks like you could pop the round thing out from the back of the design! I just love all your stuff~you have a real talent!
July 7th, 2009 at 4:45 pm
I think it’s to make a really cool god’s eye craft.
P.S. Thanks for the asymetrical granny square top pattern! I’ve made 2!
July 7th, 2009 at 5:09 pm
The second picture looks like a drum and I do believe those could be drum sticks, so obviously it’s for those crafty moments that need a drum roll! Ta-da!!
July 7th, 2009 at 5:15 pm
I think it looks like a really cool compass, only for patterns instead of maps!
July 7th, 2009 at 5:36 pm
i think it’s something to draw even circles, similar to what was used in school.
July 7th, 2009 at 5:52 pm
It is a compass! You beautiful genius, you! You must need to draw an awful lot of circles in the same size -wink-
July 7th, 2009 at 6:16 pm
It looks like something you could use in place of a protractor to get circles, or something you would use to get even lines.
July 7th, 2009 at 6:19 pm
I think that this ‘contraption’ is either for marking up patchwork squares/quilting lines or is for making woven ‘daisy-type’ flowers from yarn.
looks very intriguing - cant wait to find out what it is

A handmade tuning fork for tuning crafty creations to the DIY cosmos?
July 7th, 2009 at 6:24 pm

July 7th, 2009 at 6:27 pm
err…. interesting toolie-helpie-craftie-thingie?!?!?!?
July 7th, 2009 at 6:29 pm
is it a knitting spool? Hahaha I don’t know!
July 7th, 2009 at 6:32 pm
I’m guessing the same as Alicia before me. -Because of the two pencils pointing the same way. Yes? I’m excited to see whether I’m right or not! ^^
July 7th, 2009 at 7:15 pm
Hi, it looks like something you would make a grid pattern with.
July 7th, 2009 at 7:46 pm
I think it’s a home-made doohickey for making your own fringe-trim. I saw a video demo of how to use a store-bought metal one, and was like OMG I can make own fringe?!?!
July 7th, 2009 at 8:09 pm
I guess I’m not really sure what it could be used for….some sort of measurement tool perhaps?
That lace is so pretty
July 7th, 2009 at 8:52 pm
I think that you use it to draw lines insede paper tubes haha I really don’t have a clue what it is fot.
July 7th, 2009 at 9:05 pm
Pom pom maker?
July 7th, 2009 at 9:37 pm
Uhhh….. a tool to help you draw two straight parallel lines and/or a circle??? It’s is quite the mystery!
I can’t wait to hear about the giveaway!
July 7th, 2009 at 9:41 pm
My vote is that its either a protractor or something used to make two lines, like if you wanted to do a seam allowance. Only it’s too far apart for a seam allowance… *shrug*
July 7th, 2009 at 9:48 pm
My guess is it’s for making hairpin lace.
July 7th, 2009 at 11:11 pm
Is it an odd shape tracer? Or maybe it is a magical crafty inspiration?
July 8th, 2009 at 1:55 am
It looks almost like something you’d make a very complex god’s-eye on. Either that or for weaving. Crazy-type weaving.
July 8th, 2009 at 8:02 am
I believe that it will help you to make a God’s Eye ornament. You do beautiful work
July 8th, 2009 at 3:31 pm
I think it’s a pattern maker for instructions to make a particular design.

July 9th, 2009 at 11:46 am
a quarter bag
July 12th, 2009 at 6:21 am
I think it’s some sort of thing for weaving.
July 12th, 2009 at 9:03 am
I think the creation is used to draw striaght lines on patterns. It could also be used for circles, or tracing an object.
July 12th, 2009 at 10:22 pm
I would use it for making sure the pages were even (probably not right, but I know what I need). Thankyou
July 13th, 2009 at 3:50 pm
it’s used for decoration! Who wouldn’t want that hung on the wall?
July 13th, 2009 at 9:21 pm
I think it looks like an electric pencil or pen!
July 14th, 2009 at 12:12 am
It looks like a homemade pom pom maker to me.

July 14th, 2009 at 10:05 am
I am guessing that it draws circles..A circle making contraption;)
July 14th, 2009 at 11:49 am
I have no idea what that thing is used for, but I would love to find out what it is. Guess I have no imagination.
July 14th, 2009 at 2:24 pm
Used to draw perfect circles.
July 14th, 2009 at 4:12 pm
this looks like a handy tool to draw parallel lines evenly.
July 14th, 2009 at 6:45 pm
Hmmmm…used to mark where to hang pictures on the wall evenly? macd82 at gmail dot com
July 15th, 2009 at 12:53 am
The only time i’ve seen something like that is when we learned how to make kites with popsicle sticks and yarn.
July 15th, 2009 at 12:55 am
I think it’s for your hair.
July 15th, 2009 at 6:58 am
Do you use it for braiding? I really have no idea but I’m intrigued!
July 15th, 2009 at 7:44 am
I think it is to mark both the line to cut and the seam at the same time.
July 15th, 2009 at 9:08 am
I don’t know what it is. I guess it has something to do with quilting. Maybe it forms perfect squares.
July 15th, 2009 at 9:37 am
I think it is a lace maker!…using the pencils as spacers
July 15th, 2009 at 9:37 am
I think it is a lace maker!…using the pencils as spacers
July 15th, 2009 at 9:46 am
I really have no idea what it is, but it does look like some sort of spacer.

a crafting compass..lol i dont know it reminds me of those metal compasses we used in school
July 15th, 2009 at 10:28 am
I think it’s for weaving patterns.
July 15th, 2009 at 12:11 pm
IT’S A PATCHWORK MANGLE USED FOR LAYING OUT THE CUTTING LINES FOR PATCHWORK PIECES.
July 15th, 2009 at 12:25 pm
Hmmm…. I think it’s a makeshift loom.
