I’m back in Portland!  Phew!

CA was crazy (as always) but bridesmaid-ing for my best friend was amazing and Allegra and Alyn’s wedding was totally wonderful.  These two lovebirds were married in the redwoods on the California coast in a little town north of Santa Rosa called Gualala.  We lucked out with perfect weather and the whole thing went off without a hitch!

I just have to share with you a picture of Allegra’s amazing handmade, hand-dyed, 100% raw silk dress.  She designed it herself!!!

Isn’t it stunning?  Congrats, Alyn and Allegra!  I luv you guys!

In other good news, I just heard from the folks at the NW Quilting Expo that my Witch Farmer quilt got juried into the Art Quilt category of this year’s show!  Here’s a pic of it with a close-up detail to the right:

Yay!  I’m a little nervous about having my work shown, especially seeing it hung next to other amazing work but we’ll just have to see what happens.

It looks like this year’s Expo will be bigger and better than ever - there’s gonna be free classes and quilts, quilts and more quilts.  I’ll be there with bells on.

Here’s the vitals for the show:

9 am–5:30 pm, Thursday, September 24 and Friday, September 25, 2009
9 am–5 pm Saturday, September 26, 2009

(or you can go to their website to read more..)

Here’s just a taste of what you’ll see…..

(This is the 2008 Best in Show made by Ronda K. Beyer, Darwin’s Diamonds & Flowers!)

As you can see, the competition is *fierce*!  Can’t wait to meet all the other quilters at the expo. Ok, I’m off to sew a 4″ sleeve on the back of my quilt and get ready to drop it off!
